Authors of a disastrous start (34-13 in the 1st quarter), the Spurs will count up to 30 points behind at the end of the third quarter.

The choice is done. Tony will not be a part of 2011 All Star Game, that will take place on February 20th in Los Angeles. « I’m obviously disappointed » explains Tony. « I am having the best start of my career and next to that, San Antonio is way ahead with the best record in its history. But I know the difficulty of playing an All Star Game. You only need to look at the names of 12 players in the Western Conference to understand that they also deserve to be in Los Angeles in two weeks. »

After the announcement, last night, Tony was on the Staples Senter court, ready for the evening challenge against the Lakers. Winning at the buzzer on Antonio McDyess’ beating tip (89-88), the Spurs continue their way, alone, in the standings with now 7 victories ahead of Los Angeles and Dallas. With 21 points, including 17 in the second half, Tony ends up top scorer of the match. « It’s a nice and great win. The All Star Game is behind me. The most important thing to me is taking San Antonio closer to another Championship and Conference title. And it requires a victory tonight in Sacramento. »

Back in San Antonio, Tony delivers his feeling after the Spurs’ victory over Utah, 102 to 95 : « It’s a great victory, especially since it’s never easy to win in the Jazz Arena. We felt Utah rebounded throughout the game. They stayed in five consecutive defeats, they absolutely wanted to end this bad series. It was a physical game, a real fight. We counted up to 20 point lead in the third quarter-time but we gave them the opportunity to come back. Finally, it ended well for us. We are at 39 wins for only 7 losses. It’s a pretty incredible record. »
